"METAL MANIACS" (USA) Review:
ETERNAL SILENCE
"The Dawning Of Chaos"
A more apt title might be The Reiteration Of Chaos as this is a rather straightforward
and simple rocked-out death metal formula. Mournful, occasionally harmonized
guitar
tones wind up and down simple scales at a steady mid-paced beat as guttural
vocal chunks
surge with macabre imagery. The drummer can’t quite keep up in spots and
that’s a damn shame
considering this never hits faster than the fastest clip of any later-era Bolt
Thrower disc. A drummer
should surge with the rest of the band, keeping them on their toes; not falling
behind as the vocals lead.
But taking lessons from early Hypocrisy, early Six Feet Under and virtually
any Benediction album, this
Wisconsin outfit offer a decent EP-- albeit a bit bumpy in spots -- that could
get ‘em some attention down the road.
If you like that uncomplicated, groove-laden dictionary death metal way of thinking,
you’ll shit a brick of pure gore for some Eternal Silence.
