Gran bel pastone il death metal di questi quattro rudi yenkees... Nella loro
ricerca di un purismo sonoro del tutto personale, gli Eternal Silence riescono
comunque a contaminare, ad avviare quel particolare processo di osmosi tra i
generi che tende a mantenere intatte le caratteristiche fondamentali della proposta
del combo americano. Tanto per cambiare, nulla di nuovo a livello di songwriting,
ma si rende necessario riconoscere come i nostri riescano a proporre una loro
personalissima miscela di già sentito senza stancare, nella maniera più
assoluta, l'ascoltatore: le quattro tracce di "The dawning of chaos"
scorrono con una facilità incredibile, grazie ad un tessuto melodico
accattivante e al contempo di impatto, pur non vantando di una tecnica in grado
di competere con le miriadi di band in circolazione. Questo senza ovviamente
muovere critiche nei confronti delle capacità della band, le quali rientrano
ampiamente nella media, pur non andando oltre. Veniamo però al succitato
"pastone": il death metal degli Eternal Silence vanta di diverse influenze
tra le quali annoveriamo i Death (innovazione a go go...), i Sepultura, i Deicide,
per poi mischiarsi intelligentemente a trame tipicamente classic metal (rude
e americano, ovvio), le quali danno un particolare tocco di epicità al
tutto. Non male per una band il cui suono è di matrice tipicamente floridiana,
senza dubbio trattasi di sonorità difficilmente sfruttate in questo campo,
ma delle quali si è fatto un abuso nel nord europa. Inutile sottolinare
come io riesca a trovare molto più genuina ed accattivante la proposta
degli Eternal Silence rispetto a quella di certi In Flames...
Tante belle parole, ma non illudetevi che sia innovazione: resta comunque death
metal classicissimo, e più del voto che vedete riportato in questa pagina
i nostri tre cari deathster con donzella non possono meritare. Bravi comunque,
continuate così.
