"Death8699" (USA) Review:
Eternal Silence - The Dawning of Chaos (Demo 2002) Here's a four song demo
from a very promising band hailing from Wisconsin.
Judging by the quality of this CD, the termenology 'demo' would be rather
debatable. This sounds too quality for a demo.
Musically, Eternal Silence are walking the fine line in the death/black
metal category. They do maintain a sense of originality in their sound, the
riffs for the most part are easy to get into. You can tell they come from
the heart.
They mostly range from fast 'hum-along' type riffs, with some chunky war
inspired chord riffs. Even on "Fading Inside", it has a dark and dismal
sound with some guitar harmonies, like in the vein of 'Fourth Dimension' era
Hypocrisy, adding a nice little twist.
I like the vocal style they use, it's guttural, but not trying to be
incredibly low which it seems too many bands these days use, with the
addition of some traditional black metal screams on occasion. All done by
the two guitarists, Jim Flynn and Keith Dorn.
To anyone who's a fan of this genre, I'd suggest keep an eye (or two) out
for this band in the future. Because..THE DAWNING OF CHAOS HAS ARRIVED!!!!
